Children's Appointment

Hi all. We had our Children's Clinic appointment today. It went well. It was a bit of a struggle beforehand getting the referral correct so I could get the genetic testing done. It worked out at the last minute and we were able to have it done. We won't receive the results for at least 1-3 months. Kyler was such a good boy when he was getting his blood drawn. He cried, but they took four vials. I think I would cry too if they had to take four vials of blood from me.

The Physical Therapist was very impressed with Kyler. We were hoping she would be. She said that he's doing really well and to keep up all of the work we're doing with him. We have something new to work on. He favors holding his head and looking to the left side a little bit, so we have a few exercises to work his right side. She said she was probably being picky because it's so minor, but we want to fix it. She kept popping her head in when the Director (Dr. Allen) was meeting with us. I guess he has a 9 month old who isn't nearly advanced as Kyler. Even he was telling us how impressive Kyler is and that his daughter doesn't put weight on her feet or have the head control Kyler has. Keith and I are very proud. The PT said that she just doesn't see babies like Kyler anymore and to keep doing everything we're doing. YAY, all of that tummy time that he loves is paying off!!!

Kyler was entertaining everyone. Every doctor/specialist/nurse that came in to see us got a little show. He was only in his diaper for most of the time so they could examine him, so he was having a good time playing with his toes and belly. He loves to be naked baby! He was blowing bubbles, shrieking, giggling...basically just being Kyler. =) Everyone was saying how cute he is and how happy of a baby he is. Again, Keith and I are so proud!

The day went well. We got a lot of positive feedback and more good information. As soon as I know anything about the genetic testing, I'll post, but don't expect to hear anything for at least a month or two.

Take care.
