We had a bit of a scare though. Kyler went to get circumcized. He came back and after awhile, they checked his penis. It was still bleeding with no signs of stopping. They decided he needed to be sent to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. I was devistated. Keith went to stay with Kyler. I wasn't able to go since I had a c-section and was stuck in the hospital. Keith's parents drove him to Chicago and his mom stayed over night with my boys. My mom came and stayed with me.
It turns out Kyler has Hemophilia. It's a blood disorder and it means that he's missing a clotting factor. Only 1 in 10,000 have hemophilia and it's genetic from the mother's side of the family. 1/3 of Hemophiliacs get it through a random genetic mutation and we're guessing that's what happened with Kyler since no one in my family has it. If he gets hurt badly, he needs to go to the hospital to get an injection of the medicine that helps him clot. It's something he can live a normal life with, he just won't be able to play football or hockey, or get a tattoo. Darn!! (sarcasm) We wanted him to play baseball anyway!!
He's so perfect and beautiful. We're calling the Hemophilia a blip. It could've been so much worse. Hemophilia is completely manageable and we're working with some of the best doctors in the country!
Our first couple of weeks home have been great. He's such a joy. I love watching Keith and him together. Reese loves him already too. It seems like he's been here forever and it's amazing how much our lives have changed for the better since he was born!
Here he is:

Julie,
Congrats on a healthy baby boy. Our family had a similar scenario, out the blue Hemophilia. Your outlook is great and welcome to the community. Community support was the biggest help for me. If I can help in any way please let me know.
Enjoy the honeymoon phase.
