11/30 Appointment

I went to see Dr. Kramer today. Keith couldn't go b/c he was in meetings all day. It was a quick appointment to listen to the heartbeat on the Doppler and to see if I had any questions. I also got a flu shot while I was there. *Ouch* My arm is a bit sore and the shot kind of hurt. If it keeps me healthy for baby Loeffler, I'll do anything.

I also got to set up our appointment for our ultrasound to find out the gender and to make sure baby Loeffler has all 10 fingers and toes. It's going to be Dec. 20 in the morning. YAY!!!! We'll find out before Christmas! What a great Christmas present it's going to be to know if this is a little boy or little girl. I was in Babies R Us the other day to get a Snoogle (body pillow that wraps around me to help me sleep better) and I walked around looking at all of the fun baby stuff. I love it and I can't wait until we get to start decorating his/her room!

I still think it's a boy. The heartrate today was 132 beats per minute. That is the best sound in the world. I always get a little teary when I hear it. The last time Dr. Kramer said it was 155, but that was after she had put away the Doppler and we were on our way out the door. She didn't tell me and I forgot to ask what it was when she actually did it. She could've guessed on the number to make me happy. =) They say that boys have lower heartrates than girls. They also say that girls make their mommy break out and my skin has been horrible so far. Who knows, it's anybody's guess, but it's fun to wonder and think about.

On a sad note, a friend of ours from work died of a heart attack today. I used to work in the same group as him and Keith has played poker with him in the past. He was only 51. He was a great man who was loved by all for his sense of humor and charm. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this very sad time.
