Big Boy Bed!

e decided it was time to move Kyler to an official big boy bed. He's been in his toddler bed since he was 16 1/2 months, so we were hoping for an easy transition. We got him a full sized mattress & boxspring. I found an adorable bedding set that has dinosaurs on one side and stripes on the other side. If he gets sick of dinosaurs, we can always flip it over. We've been introducing him to pillows & the comforter with the dinosaurs on them for the past couple of weeks so he got used to seeing them.

We officially made the switch this past Sunday night. He was excited about it when it was all put together & it was still light out. Once it was bedtime, he went up the stairs saying, "I don't want my big dinosaur bed." He layed down and started crying. Tears lasted for 12 minutes & he was asleep. I went to check on him & he was sound asleep on a pillow. He got a full night's sleep in his new bed. Not bad for the first night.

The second night went even better. He layed down & fell asleep quickly. He whimpered for about 5 seconds a little bit after he layed down, but that was it. He got another full night's sleep.

When I went to get him this morning, he was talking to his dinosaurs. He said, "Dat's a big dinosaur." "Dat's a baby dinosaur." "Are you OK baby dinosaur?" "I'll be right back big dinosaur. Don't move." I went into his room & he was telling me about the dinosaurs and trees on his bed. I asked him if he liked his new dinosaur bed & said, "Yeah Mommy, I do!"

Let's hope this awesome transition continues!
