Talking videos

Hi everyone! We've been pretty busy lately! Kyler had a bruise on his head that started last Thursday. We have no idea how he got it, probably from rubbing up on his crib when he was sleeping. No one saw him bump this side of his head. It was about the size of an eraser head, but then a few days later, it got bigger.

I called Children's on Monday and they wanted to see him for some Factor. I numbed both of his feet before we left so Susan, the Hemophilia nurse could get the vein in his right foot first and as a backup, the left foot. Kyler and I got there and I think it was a clinic day for the Cancer kids. Oh my gosh, it was so sad. I kept kissing Kyler and was close to tears the entire time. I've been praying for those little kids since we left. Kyler provided a little entertainment and made a couple of kids smile, so that was cute.

After an hour of waiting, Susan saw us and said his bruise wasn't too bad. She compared it to a black eye. You hit a spot and the tissue & nerves around it are so sensitive that it spreads and looks worse then it is. She touched it and Kyler got upset. She didn't like that, so she gave him his infusion while I held him. He screamed, but I don't think it was because he was hurting. His foot was numb. I think he was scared. She got the vein in his right foot on the first try and we were done.

It was an easy one - not really a bleed, just a precaution. I took Kyler alone this time. Keith was swamped at work. I know if my mother-in-law was available she would've come with me in a heartbeat. I love her so much for that! But this is something I needed to do with Kyler. Someday I'm going to have to infuse him at home by myself. I needed to take Kyler for an easy one to prove that I'm brave about all of this.

He's doing great. The bruise is getting better. All of his other leg bruises are going away.

I have a couple of videos from last night (Tues) of him talking. The bruise on his head is the one that was treated on Monday. He says about 32 words right now. He's amazing!! Susan was blown away by his vocabulary when we were at Children's. That's so awesome to hear!!
