Happy New Year!!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We've been super busy! We had a fantastic Christmas and I hope all of you did too. Kyler was so cute at Christmas. He loved opening presents. He loved eating the wrapping paper and playing with his new toys. He seemed a little confused at times, but overall I think he had a blast! It was very memorable and everything was perfect with our sweet little baby!!

We also had a good New Year's Eve. We didn't do much. Hung out at home and made dinner, but it was nice and we enjoyed being together and playing with Kyler and Reese.

I spoke to the Genetics Counselor at Children's last week. We still don't have an answer. We know that Kyler doesn't carry the two most common Hemophilia genes. They're still looking for the gene that makes up his Hemophilia. When they find it, they'll have to test it a couple of times to make sure it's definitely the right one. Then they'll take my blood and see if I carry the same gene. I asked if him not carrying the two most common genes has any impact on the chances of me being a carrier. She said no. She said there's only been one other family that she's worked with that has been in this situation. They were tested in September (same as us, Sept. 23) and didn't find out until February. Hopefully we'll have answers in the next month or so.

The more I think about it, the more it doesn't matter if I am a carrier or not. If I am, it's not going to determine whether or not we want a second child. We always wanted a family of 4 (5 with Reese). If we have a boy, he has a 50/50 chance of having Hemophilia too. If we have a girl, she has a 50/50 chance of being a carrier. If I'm not a carrier, I won't feel bad about Kyler having it. He's amazing and I wouldn't change a thing about him. If it's not Hemophilia, it could be food allergies, asthma, acid reflux, or worse things like Cancer or Autism. I don't know any parent who doesn't worry about their child, so if the worst we have to worry about is Hemophilia, we're pretty lucky!!!

I hope you're all doing well. Here are a few pictures.
