Hi all! We haven't had a ton going on lately, but I thought I'd update this to let you all know how we're doing.
Baby Loeffler, aka: Little Dude, aka: Brett (I tease Keith we're going to name him after Brett Favre - no that's not his real name, quit trying to guess!) =) is doing well. He's kicking up a storm daily. I think he's going to be quite the athlete since it seems like he's always doing sommersaults in there. Daddy would be happy if he's a baseball player and the two Grandpa's are already talking about fishing trips and teaching him how to bowl! I just want him to not get hurt! =) Sometimes he kicks me really high above my belly button, and other times he kicks really low by my bladder. Keith and I were staring at my belly last weekend for awhile. It's so funny to see it move when he kicks.
Keith has been reading to Little Dude lately. He bought a book of nursery rhymes, "The Little Engine That Could" and a Dr. Seuss book. I've been playing music for him and talking to him more and more. He's still moving a lot when he hears "It's A Small World". It's really cute. He also seems to really like pizza. If anyone mentions pizza, I tend to get a kick or if I have a Lean Cuisine pizza for lunch, I get a lot of movement afterwards. It's probably all in my head, but it gives me an excuse to eat pizza!!
We're going to have to buy a book or two to help adjust Reese to when we bring our little guy home from the hospital. She's been our spoiled little princess for the past two years, so we want to do whatever we can to help her adjust. She loves the babies she's met so far, but they always go home after she gets to play with them. This one isn't going anywhere and I hope she doesn't get too jealous. I'm sure she'll be really protective of him eventually, it's just getting to that point that may be a challenge. If any of you have any suggestions or tips, please let us know!
We ordered the bedding for the nursery last week. It's only available online through Babies-R-Us, so we wanted to order it to make sure we love it in person. It came on Tuesday, and it's adorable!!! We couldn't be happier with it. We're going to have a little Pirate, ARRRRR!!! We were picking out paint colors last night and I was sitting on the floor in his room with the comforter and color samples daydreaming about holding him in the rocking chair/glider and watching him sleep in in crib. *sigh* How is it possible to love this little guy any more than we already do?!
On a medical update, my blood pressure has been steady and good. I go to the doctor again on Jan. 24, so I'll bring in my numbers to show them then. I also will have my Glucose Test that day to test for Gestational Diabetes. I'll have to drink a sweet drink and then they'll take my blood an hour later. If you have a minute, please say a prayer or keep your fingers crossed that I pass! I'm going to try to cut out sweets for a couple of days before the test. As you all know, that's going to be a challenge since I have a horrible sweet tooth.
Wow, this is long! I didn't think I'd have much to say for this update. I should've known better since I've been so rambly lately!
Hope you're all doing well.
Julie
